I wish I could have found that day, the day I met you, the right words to express the immense affection and boundless gratitude I have had for you and your art for five years now. But on that day I was so emotional that in a totally natural way a flood of tears began to flow out of me. This was because in front of me I could see not only Timothée Chalamet, an incredible and extraordinary artist, but I also seemed to have the multitude of characters and stories that that artist played, I could hear Elio's voice, I could glimpse Nic's intense eyes and Laurie's smile, and still I could see Paul Atreides, Lee, and all the other characters who, however different, made us feel empathetically close to them; and all of this is thanks to you and your talent. But on that day what moved me most was to see, beyond the artist and bevond his characters, Timothée "person," "Timmy" as a wonderful soul, in whose veins flows kindness, gentleness, depth, talent, and poetry.
I jealously treasure the memory of that day, a memory so filled with emotion that it has crystallized in my mind and heart, in the crystallized in my mind and heart, in the hope, someday, of meeting you again to deliver a letter in which I can finally pour out all my gratitude.
In the end I think that there's nothing more beautiful and more intense than giving art as a gift. And that's why today on December 27 2022, I would like to "give you" for your birthday, in my own small way, a song, one of the most beautiful and powerful of Italian songwriting. Hoping that it can give you emotions and that it can touch the deepest chords of your soul, just as your art constantly does with our of souls.
The song is called 'La casa in riva al mare' by Lucio Dalla, you can find it on Spotify.
